Woah! I'm really loving the template/theme of this website. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's difficult to get that "perfect balance" between usability and visual appearance. I must say that you've done a excellent job with this. In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Chrome. Outstanding Blog!

hi there
after many cms testing (including: joomla, modx)
I also found drupal to be the only one reliable
and flexible at most.
you can get the most of drupal especially with its modules views, cck, fields, token
but not the same in theming
i have a lack of skills in phptemplate (even if there is a theming module like zen) and (i`m not the only one saying this) theming in drupal is frustrating i hope i could learn just that..
ciao lenny

Great nteresting reading! There seems to be a jungle of CMS out there, and its great to see that someone really have looked into them. We are currently thinking of what CMS to use to skin our game site templates for and Drupal sound very promising.

good write up, thanks
-imo- the problem with Drupal is it thinks its a framework but it is not, its out of the box a blogger for start but it is more than that but why it is necessary a default profile is a blogger - there are other upcoming insall profiles but it is not helpful as there is no documentations easily informs people, since the important modules the CCK, the Views and -the Panels some extend) are not properly in the core and there is no coherency in form of developer UX it is weak and problematic which increases the site developer learning curve dramatically, and important module developers does not collaraborate as they should (it is in the nature of Open Source dev model by default) thats why Drupal taken to UX doctors labs recently but to get results from it will take another version and a year or more..
there should be better way of doing things i believe

Hi there. I am not here to tell you that you made the wrong decision in your selection of Drupal for your project but as a member of the MODx Marketing & Design team and a user since 2006, I can offer some insight into the current <a>roadmap</a> and compatibility of MODx 0.9.7 (as it is currently dubbed) and previous versions (current as of this comment 0.9.6.1p2).

While 0.9.7 is based upon an entirely new codebase, it will have a migration system for previous versions, certainly the tables and the core addons will be addressed. There may be some issues with custom built addons that rely on the old API as well MODx will be moving to a more consistent use of Smarty Tags for its templating and placeholders vs the current version but that could be handled via a single plugin that does a translation on the fly or you could do a search and replace and be done in a matter of minutes.

Again, I want to say that every web project is different and every developer has their likes and dislikes it is great that you have looked at MODx as part of your project choices.

Keep watching and join the friendly bunch at the MODx forums.

Cheers and all the best,

[...] Random thoughts and serendipity wrote an interesting post today onHere’s a quick excerpt What do you think of that witty little title? You get it, don’t you? The Drop, from Drupal. Dew as in Dewdrop but meant as do (that’s a homophone y’know). Pretty cute, huh? Alright, I’ll explain. I have chosen to use the PHP based content management system (CMS) Drupal for one of my projects. This may not seem like a big deal to you but it is for me. You see, I have a small problem. I end up spending massive amounts of time trying to figure out what tools I should use for each project. This wa [...]
